Revestr is an investment app that helps low income earners invest in real estate and gain returns. It also provides a way for them to learn more about investing in Real Estate. I carried out the research /brainstorming phase with some designer friends Felix Enyinnaya, Saviour Inyang, Nseuwem Gold.

The Design Sprint methodology is a five-day process for answering critical business questions through design, prototyping, and testing ideas with final users and customers; basically, a way to solve design problems quickly.

We started out first by getting to know who we were solving for, what their thoughts were, thier pains and goals. Finding users wasn’t that hard because they were in one way or the other around us, all we had to do was ask “Have you invested in real Estate” then let the conversation flow.

And Solving The Problem

We carried out a little exercise to determine the problem statement, we asked everyone to write out problem statements, then we all get to vote on the one that captures the idea .

Gain More Clarity

Gain More Clarity

To have a more deep understanding of the challenges faced by Victor and Deborah, we had to answer some set of questions during the sprint. This helped us uncover challenges and provide a unified solution.

Finding The Suitable Solution

Finding The Suitable Solution

Finding The Suitable Solution

We discovered various opportunities that we felt could solve the problems of Victor and Deborah, but we were stuck on which one was suitable. To determine the best solution, we applied the Impact /Implementation matrix which helped us categorise these opportunities.

Our best solution has to satisfy the following criteria

Low Investment

Flexible returns time

Require no direct maintenance and management

Required less market Knowledge

Less Risks

Accommodated the Wealthy and the low income earners.

After passing the features through the matrix we decided to move forward with with Crowdfunding and Real Investment Trusts, as they are the only ones with High Impact

Real Estate Investment Trusts

Real Estate Investment Trusts

Real Estate Investment Trusts

A real estate investment trust (“REIT”) is a company that owns, operates or finances income-producing real estate. REITs allow anyone to invest in portfolios of real estate assets the same way they invest in other industries – through the purchase of individual company stock or through a mutual fund or exchange traded fund (ETF). Stockholders earn a share of the income produced without actually having to go out and buy, manage or finance property. Approximately 150 million Americans live in households invested in REITs through their 401(k), IRAs, pension plans, and other investment funds.

Real Estate Crowd Funds

Real Estate Crowd Funds

Fractional ownership, also known as crowdfunded real estate or property syndication, is an innovative investment model that enables multiple investors to pool their resources and collectively purchase a property. Investors acquire shares or units in the property, entitling them to a proportional share of the property’s income, appreciation, and potential tax benefits. This model allows individuals with smaller budgets to invest in high-value properties that would otherwise be financially out of reach.

Through white-boarding, User journey maps and user-flows, we were able to visualise the steps Victor and Deborah would take to achieve their goal. This step helped us identify certain points/opportunities in our flow where we could solve the challenges discovered during the sprint
